CLEAN UP COLUMN NAMES

Make CSV headers match your next step.

Rename and reorder CSV headers in your browser while keeping each row's values in the matching columns. Preview and download the cleaned CSV locally.

Comma-delimited CSV · header row required · 200,000 character limit

Paste a CSV with headers, or try the example.

This browser-only mapper renames and reorders columns in comma-delimited CSV while keeping each value with its original column. It handles quoted commas, doubled quotes, and line breaks inside quoted fields; rows with inconsistent field counts are reported instead of exported.

Method: parse the first record as the header, map each source column to a unique output name, then apply the same column order to every data row. The output quotes fields when needed. This follows the common CSV rules described in RFC 4180, sections 2 and 3 (published October 2005; informational, and updated by RFC 7111). The RFC notes that CSV implementations vary, so this tool supports a clearly bounded comma-delimited subset.

How it works

1. Paste a CSV with a header row. 2. Rename columns and move them into the order you need. 3. Preview, copy, or download the mapped CSV; all processing stays in this browser tab.

Good to know

What CSV format is supported?

The tool accepts comma-delimited CSV with one header row. Quoted commas, doubled quotes, and line breaks inside quoted fields are supported; rows with a different field count are reported.

Does it change row values?

No. It only renames and reorders columns. Each value stays paired with its source header, and the output is quoted as needed for CSV.

Does my data leave this browser?

No. Parsing, mapping, preview, and export run in this browser tab. The tool does not upload or store your CSV.

Is it free?

Yes, during beta. Optional usage-credit plans are coming soon. Payments are not available and no credits are required.
