COUNT WORDS IN TEXT
Find the words that repeat.
Count repeated words in pasted text with Unicode-aware boundaries, case folding, and optional punctuation removal. Text stays in your browser.

Method and example
The browser's Intl.Segmenter uses locale-aware word boundaries; only segments marked word-like are counted. With “Ignore letter case” selected, Tools and tools group together. “Remove punctuation” strips Unicode punctuation from each segment before grouping, so don't becomes dont. For the sample, case-insensitive counting with punctuation kept gives tools: 3, don't: 1, stop: 1, a: 1, and tool: 1.
Segmentation depends on browser locale data. The default Unicode boundary rules may not reliably split languages such as Thai, Lao, Chinese, and Japanese without dictionary-based tailoring. Page content updated November 3, 2026.

Good to know
What counts as a word?
A segment the browser marks as word-like under its locale-aware Unicode segmentation rules. Counts can vary with browser and locale data.
What does punctuation removal do?
It removes Unicode punctuation characters from each word-like segment before grouping; it does not remove symbols or split the segment further.
Does text leave my device?
No. Segmentation and counting happen in this browser tab, and the tool does not upload or save your text.
Is there a size limit?
Yes. The input is limited to 100,000 UTF-16 code units and at most 500 distinct rows are displayed.
Is it free?
Yes, during beta. Optional usage-credit plans are coming soon. Payments are not available and no credits are required.

How it works
1. Paste or type text. 2. Choose whether to ignore letter case or remove punctuation. 3. Review total segments and the frequency table; input stays in your browser.
Good to know
How are words split?
The browser locale-aware Intl.Segmenter marks word-like Unicode segments; behavior can vary with locale data.
Can I count case-sensitive words?
Yes. Turn off Ignore letter case to keep uppercase and lowercase spellings as separate entries.
What happens when I remove punctuation?
Unicode punctuation is removed from each segment before grouping, so don't becomes dont; punctuation does not create extra splits.
Does my text leave this browser?
No. Counting runs in this browser tab; text is not uploaded or saved by the tool.
Is it free?
