FORMAT TABLES LOCALLY

Turn rows into a Markdown table.

Convert pasted CSV or TSV rows into a Markdown pipe table. Blank cells and pipe characters are handled, and the result stays in your browser.

First row becomes the header. Include at least one data row. Processing stays local.

Paste tab-separated or comma-separated rows to begin.

How the table is built

The first row supplies the column headings; later rows become data rows. Choose TSV for tab-separated text or CSV for comma-separated text. CSV input supports quoted commas, doubled quotes, and line breaks inside quoted cells. Every row must have the same number of columns. A blank cell stays blank, and a pipe inside a cell is escaped as \| so it does not split the Markdown table. Line breaks inside cells become <br>.

Method checked November 3, 2026. The output follows the pipe-table syntax documented by Markdown Guide. The generated Markdown is plain text; review rendering in your target Markdown application.

Good to know

Does this accept CSV and TSV?

Yes. Choose the input format. CSV supports quoted commas, doubled quote marks, and quoted line breaks; TSV splits cells at tabs and rows at line breaks.

What happens if a row has a different number of cells?

The tool reports an error and does not generate output until each row has the same number of cells as the header.

How are pipes and blank cells handled?

Pipe characters are escaped so they remain inside a cell. Blank values remain empty cells between the table delimiters.

Does my pasted data leave this browser?

No. Parsing and Markdown generation happen in this browser tab. The tool does not upload or save your input.

Is it free?

Yes, during beta. Optional usage-credit plans are coming soon. Payments are not available and no credits are required.
